Sportspersons Ministries exists to connect outdoors people with God through trust in Jesus Christ.
We accomplish this by offering outdoor events with a ministry focus, assisting churches in their ministry efforts, and partnering with businesses that desire to make a difference in the lives of outdoors people.
Through hunting, fishing, outdoor recreation, youth events, training opportunities, and personal relationships, we strive to introduce people to Jesus Christ and encourage them to grow in their faith.
Position Overview
The Development Coordinator provides administrative, organizational, marketing, fundraising, event, and communication support to help Sportspersons Ministries operate efficiently and continue expanding its impact.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys organizing projects, serving others, working independently, and helping make ministry happen behind the scenes.
Primary Responsibilities
Event Planning & Coordination
- Assist with planning and executing banquets, fundraising events, youth camps, outdoor outreach programs, and ministry gatherings.
- Coordinate registrations, volunteers, schedules, and event logistics.
- Track event timelines and help ensure projects stay on schedule and marketed.
- Provide support during occasional evening and weekend events.
Fundraising Support
- Assist with fundraising campaigns and sponsorship efforts.
- Prepare donor acknowledgements and follow-up communications.
- Track sponsorships, donations, and fundraising activity.
CRM & Database Management
- Maintain donor, volunteer, church partner, sponsor, and participant records.
- Track event participation and ministry communications.
- Generate reports and maintain accurate ministry records.
Administrative Support
- Scheduling and correspondence.
- Record keeping and office organization.
- Document preparation and ministry mailings.
- Support ministry leadership with administrative projects.
Volunteer & Donor Relations
- Communicate with volunteers, churches, sponsors, donors, and ministry partners.
- Coordinate volunteer opportunities and event staffing.
- Help build strong relationships with ministry supporters.
Communications
- Assist with marketing, newsletters, social media, event promotions, and ministry communications.
- Help ensure communications remain professional, accurate, and mission-focused.
Qualifications
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- High attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, email, and general computer applications.
- Willingness to learn and utilize CRM/database software.
- A heart for serving others and supporting Christian ministry.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a church, nonprofit, or ministry environment.
- Experience coordinating events and volunteers.
- Experience with fundraising or donor management.
- Familiarity with CRM software.
- Interest in hunting, fishing, camping, or outdoor recreation.
Spiritual Qualifications
- Demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Supports and upholds the mission, values, and Statement of Faith of Sportspersons Ministries.
- Displays Christian character in personal and professional life.
- Has a genuine desire to see lives transformed through outdoor ministry.
